Monkey Pox Antigen Rapid Test -MPV test kits
*Monkeypox is a viral zoonotic disease caused by monkeypox virus. It occurs primarily in tropical rainforest areas of Central and West Africa and is occasionally exported to other regions.
*Both monkeypox virus and smallpox virus are orthopoxviruses.
*Symptoms : Fever, Rash, Exhaustion, Swollen lymph nodes.
*Route of infection: Contact with blood, body fluids, skin, etc.
*Incubation period: usually from 6 to 13 days but can range from 5 to 21 days.
Intended Use
The MonkeyPox Antigen Test Cassette is a chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of MonkeyPox antigen in serum/plasma and skin lesion/oropharyngeal swabs to aid in the diagnosis of MonkeyPox virus infection.
Principle
The MonkeyPox Antigen Test Cassette is a qualitative membrane strip based immunoassay for the detection of MonkeyPox antigen in serum/plasma, skin lesion/oropharyngeal swabs specimen. In this test procedure, anti-MonkeyPox antibody is immobilized in the test line region of the device. After a serum/plasma or skin lesion/oropharyngeal swabs specimen is placed in the specimen well, it reacts with anti-MonkeyPox antibody coated particles that have been applied to the specimen pad. This mixture migrates chromatographically along the length of the test strip and interacts with the immobilized anti-MonkeyPox antibody. If the specimen contains MonkeyPox antigen, a colored line will appear in the test line region indicating a positive result. If the specimen does not contain MonkeyPox antigen, a colored line will not appear in this region indicating a negative result. To serve as a procedural control, a colored line will always appear at the control line region indicating that proper volume of specimen has been added and membrane wicking has occurred.
Test procudure
Allow the test, sample and buffer to reach room temperature 15- 30°C (59-86°F) before running.
1.Place the extraction tube in the workstation.
2.Peel off aluminum foil seal from the top of the extraction tube containing the extraction buffer.
For the skin lesion/oropharyngeal swab
1. Have the swab carried out by a medically trained person as described.
2. Place the swab in the extraction tube. Rotate the swab for about 10 seconds.
3. Remove the swab by rotating against the extraction vial while squeezing the sides of vial to release the liquid from the swab.properly discard the swab. while pressing the head of the swab against the inside of the extraction tube to expel as much liquid as possible from the swab.
4. Close the vial with the provided cap and push firmly onto the vial.
5. Mix thoroughly by flicking the bottom of the tube. Place 3 drops of the sample vertically into the sample window of the test cassette.
For the serum/plasma
1.Hold the dropper vertically and transfer 1 drop of serum/plasma (approximately 35 μ l) to the specimen well(S) of the test device, then add 2 drops of buffer (approximately 70μl), start the timer.
2.Read the result after 10-15 minutes. Read the result within 20 minutes. Otherwise, a repetition of the test is recommended.
